Zimbabwe Defence Forces Expands Training Collaborations with India

The Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) is taking a major step toward modernizing its operations through enhanced training and capacity-building partnerships with various countries, including India.
Recently, Zimbabwe and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will allow ZDF officers to receive specialized training at Indian military academies. Minister of Defence, Honourable Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, stated that ZDF officers will undergo training in various specialized military fields in India. She also announced that scholarships have been extended for Zimbabwean officers to train as pilots.
Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri further disclosed that the two nations will explore additional areas of cooperation, such as capacity building, training, and the joint production of military equipment. These collaborations are part of the Second Republic’s broader engagement and re-engagement strategy, which is guided by the foreign policy principle of “Friend to All, Enemy to None.”
