Zim Showcases Gender Equality Progress at CSW69

At the 69th Commission for the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa, spotlighted the country’s significant achievements in promoting gender equality and empowering women.

Mutsvangwa emphasized Zimbabwe’s commitment to advancing gender equality through key initiatives, including the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and the development of a national framework to strengthen coordination of gender-related programs.

She also highlighted the country’s recent legal reforms aimed at furthering women’s representation and rights.

The government has introduced various social protection initiatives to reduce poverty among women and combat gender-based violence.
