ZIFA President Vows Transparency and Gradual Improvement in Refereeing Standards

ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi has addressed the recent suspension of football referees due to poor officiating, emphasizing the association’s commitment to transparency and a phased approach to improving standards.

Speaking on the matter, Magwizi stated that transparency in all ZIFA’s dealings is crucial for building a strong institution and fostering confidence among all stakeholders.

ZIFA president however, acknowledged that rectifying these challenges in refereeing will not happen overnight stating that local football challenges have existed for some time and ZIFA is addressing them gradually, with a proper strategy.

While admitting that not everything is perfect at this point, Magwizi expressed confidence that progress will be made, ultimately leading to a more “beautiful” standard of football in the country.
