Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Chris Mutsvangwa, has called for a third term for President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
Speaking at a ZANU PF press conference yesterday, Mutsvangwa stated that party members are exploring ways to convince the president to serve another term, citing his ongoing efforts to develop the nation.
President Mnangagwa has previously expressed his readiness to step down in 2028. However, Mutsvangwa explained that the party is reviewing constitutional provisions that may allow them to persuade him to continue leading the country.
This push comes amid claims of significant progress under Mnangagwa’s leadership. Initiatives such as the Pfumvudza project have benefited both commercial and subsistence farmers, while the revitalization of the steel industry in Kwekwe has reportedly created employment opportunities.
