The 134th Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Annual Congress entered its second day today with Industry and Commerce Minister Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu expected to officially open the high-level gathering of business leaders, policymakers and economic stakeholders at Elephant Hills Resort.

The minister was welcomed upon his arrival by Victoria Falls Mayor, His Worship Councillor P. T. Moyo, ahead of the official opening ceremony of one of Zimbabwe’s premier business and economic forums.

The congress has drawn captains of industry, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and development partners from across Zimbabwe and beyond, reflecting growing interest in the country’s industrial transformation agenda and economic growth prospects.

Held under the theme, “From Resilience to Competitiveness: Charting a New Path for Sustainable Industrial Growth,” the annual congress is focusing on strategies to enhance productivity, strengthen industrial capacity, improve competitiveness and accelerate sustainable economic development.

Delegates are expected to deliberate on key issues affecting the business environment, including industrialisation, investment promotion, value addition, innovation, infrastructure development and policy reforms aimed at supporting private sector-led growth.

The gathering comes at a time when Zimbabwe is intensifying efforts to modernise industry, expand manufacturing output and build resilient value chains capable of competing in regional and international markets.

Minister Ndlovu’s official opening address is expected to outline Government’s vision for industrial growth, highlight ongoing policy interventions to support businesses and reinforce the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in driving economic transformation.

The annual congress continues to serve as a vital platform for dialogue between Government and business, fostering partnerships aimed at unlocking new opportunities for investment, industrial expansion and sustainable national development.
