The City of Victoria Falls has strengthened its waste management infrastructure with the procurement of two new refuse trucks, one funded by the council and the other donated by African Sun Limited.
The new trucks, which include a single rear axle truck with a 15 cubic capacity acquired at a cost of over $132,000, will enhance the city’s refuse collection services and overall cleanliness.
Town Clerk Mr. Ronnie Dube noted that the acquisition of the trucks underscores the council’s commitment to delivering quality services and its vision of becoming a smart and sustainable destination by 2030.
The trucks will help address challenges caused by breakdowns, ensure timely waste collection, and improve working conditions for staff.
Acting Mayor Councillor Lungile Nyoni emphasized the council’s dedication to reliable service delivery, highlighting the successful partnership between the council and African Sun Limited.
The partnership reflects the spirit of Sustainable Development Goal 17 on partnerships.
