BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe – Residents of Bulawayo and the wider Matabeleland region now have significantly easier access to United Kingdom visa services, following the official opening of a new application centre in the City of Kings.
The UK government has launched this premium facility at the Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel, establishing it as the second official UK visa application centre in Zimbabwe, complementing the long-standing centre in the capital, Harare.
British Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pete Vowles, heralded the opening as a significant step forward in bilateral relations. “The opening of this new visa centre in Bulawayo is a milestone in strengthening the people-to-people ties between the UK and Zimbabwe,” Ambassador Vowles stated. “It demonstrates our commitment to improving services and accessibility for all Zimbabweans wishing to travel to the UK.”
The new centre is specifically designed to cater to the needs of applicants from the southern regions of Zimbabwe, reducing the time, cost, and inconvenience previously associated with travelling to Harare for visa submissions and biometric enrolment.
Practical Information for Applicants:
Location: Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel
Operating Hours: Saturdays ONLY, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Service: The centre offers premium application services, including biometric enrolment.
This strategic expansion of UK visa services underscores the importance of the Bulawayo and Matabeleland region and aims to facilitate smoother travel for business, tourism, education, and family visits to the UK. Applicants from across the region can now schedule their appointments locally via the official UK visa application website.
The existing visa application centre in Harare continues to operate as usual for applicants in the northern parts of the country.
