Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Zambia are collaborating to boost steel production, potentially transforming the region into a major global player in the industry. This ambitious initiative was confirmed by ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Comrade (Cde) Chris Mutswangwa, in a recent press conference.
Cde Mutswangwa stated that the three nations possess the necessary resources to rival even China in steel manufacturing.
He further highlighted President Mnangagwa’s strong commitment to the project, noting it as one of his key priorities for the year.
Zimbabwe has already witnessed a 33% increase in steel production since 2024 with the collaborative effort with South Africa and Zambia is expected to dramatically amplify this growth.
