President Mnangagwa has challenged local authorities and communities to take responsibility for environmental stewardship by participating in the National Clean Up initiative.
While commissioning the Second Batch of Geo Pomona Waste Management Refuse Collection Equipment in Harare, the President stressed the importance of integrating waste management into spatial planning.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works and Geo Pomona, showcased waste management equipment and best practices. President Mnangagwa emphasized that a clean environment is essential to Zimbabwe’s development and modernization.
He announced plans to introduce environmental awards to recognize local authorities’ efforts in maintaining a clean environment.
The President urged local authorities to prioritize the National Clean Up initiative and make it a priority in their programming.
