The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law to enhance the nation’s fair trial standards.
Supported by the Swedish Embassy, this collaboration aims to equip Zimbabwean prosecutors with global best practices, particularly in areas requiring improvement, to strengthen public trust in the justice system.
Prosecutor General Hon. Loyce Matanda-Moyo emphasized that the initiative aligns with Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and Vision 2030, which prioritize effective justice.
The partnership will focus on building accountability, transparency, and upholding the rule of law, ensuring that all criminal cases are handled with impartiality and fairness.
The NPAZ’s commitment to fair trial rights represents a critical step toward a justice system that serves all citizens equally, reinforcing the core principle that everyone, regardless of background, is entitled to a fair and unbiased trial.
