Written by on March 13, 2025

Warriors head coach Michael Nees has announced the squad set to face Benin and Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this month, with the biggest headline being the return of former captain Knowledge Musona.

Musona, who retired from international football two years ago, has been persuaded to rejoin the team, marking yet another major success for Nees after previously convincing Khama Billiat to make a comeback. The inclusion of these experienced players is expected to boost the Warriors as they prepare for the crucial qualifiers.

On the domestic front, Scotland FC dominated the squad selection, while Dynamos, Simba Bhora, and MWOS each contributed one player.

Nees admitted that selecting the final squad was a tough task, given the wealth of talent available.

He emphasized the importance of blending experience with emerging talent, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to rise to the challenge.
