The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) has resumed its pediatric heart surgery program after a five-year hiatus.
In a statement on X, the ministry announced that ten children will undergo heart surgery at Parirenyatwa Hospital between November 11 and November 15, 2024.
This program is a collaborative effort between MoHCC, the U.S.-based NGO Gift of Life International, Rotary Club Zimbabwe, and cardiac specialists from Cairo University in Egypt.
The Ministry described this initiative as a significant advancement in Zimbabwe’s healthcare, bringing hope to children with congenital heart conditions.
