Man arrested for assaulting mother

24-year old Inyathi man was recently arrested for assaulting his mother after a drunken argument over which child she loves more.

Nkanyiso Ncube accused his mother of favoring his sisters and became enraged when she suggested he leave if unhappy. He threw a log at her, missing initially, but struck her leg on a second attempt, causing injury.

Ncube faced physical abuse charges in court. He received a 12-month sentence with 3 months suspended and an additional 9 months suspended on the condition of completing 315 hours of community service.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe urged the public to avoid violence and seek mediation for disputes.
