Highlanders Head Coach Kelvin Kaindu has expressed pride in Lynoth Chikuwa’s outstanding tally of 16 goals this season, which includes a rare league hat-trick. Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Kaindu commended Chikuwa, also known as Sonje, for his contributions to the team and expressed optimism about his chances of clinching the Premier Soccer League Golden Boot award.
Currently three goals behind Yadah FC’s Khama Billiat, Chikuwa is gearing up for a thrilling showdown in Sunday’s season finale at Barbourfields Stadium, where Highlanders will face Yadah FC.
However, Kaindu declined to comment on rumors surrounding the future of key players Peter Muduhwa and Lynoth Chikuwa, neither confirming nor denying speculation about their potential departure.
The Golden Boot race promises to be a fitting climax to the 2024 PSL season.
