A 26-year-old Hwange resident, Carlos Ncube, has been convicted of burglary after breaking into a house and a tuck-shop in Makwika village, stealing food and beverages worth ZWG514.17.

Ncube was arrested after his shoe prints led investigators to his residence.

Ncube first broke into a local resident’s home, stealing two silver pots containing sadza and beans. Further investigation revealed that he had also burgled a nearby tuck-shop, making off with 12 bottles of Pepsi, a 2-litre Fizzy drink, and a 500ml bottle of Pfuko Maheu.

All stolen items were recovered, and Ncube was charged with two counts of unlawful entry. He was found guilty and will appear in court today for sentencing.
