Government officials have been called upon to strengthen their collaboration with traditional leaders, recognizing their vital role as custodians of cultural heritage and their deep understanding of local community needs.
Speaking at a heritage training seminar held at a local venue in Bulawayo, Minister of State and Provincial Affairs for Matabeleland North, Richard Moyo, emphasized the importance of integrating traditional leaders into decision-making processes that impact their communities. He stressed that this collaborative approach is essential for national development.
Vice Principal of the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology, Cde Ernest Dube, further urged councillors and government officials to uphold integrity in their duties, prioritizing public service over personal gain.
The training seminar, which concluded yesterday, provided councillors from across Matabeleland North with valuable insights into incorporating heritage into their leadership roles.
