The Minister of Energy and Power Development, Hon. July Moyo, has announced plans to build a pipeline to transport refined petroleum from Zimbabwe to Zambia.
The project aims to utilize Zimbabwe’s existing oil and gas storage facilities while reducing the number of fuel tankers on the roads.
Hon. Moyo explained that the pipeline will protect road infrastructure, improve fuel transport security and efficiency, prevent smuggling, and ensure direct delivery to its destination.
He also revealed plans to extend the pipeline to the Democratic Republic of Congo. This development represents a major step in regional cooperation, highlighting Zimbabwe’s commitment to using its infrastructure to benefit neighboring countries and boost economic growth.
