The government has issued a strong warning against disrespecting the office of the President, vowing to take decisive action against perpetrators.
Addressing the 2025 Senior Officers’ Conference in Harare recently, Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Honourable Kazembe Kazembe, urged the police to enforce the law and hold accountable those who undermine the presidency, whether through physical acts or online platforms.
Minister Kazembe emphasized that such disrespect undermines the dignity of the office and erodes public trust in the institution.
The Minister further highlighted that law enforcement officers have a duty to act and should not stand idle by while the President is disrespected, affirming his commitment to ensuring the law is applied fairly and consistently.
The 2025 Senior Officers’ Conference, a five-day event whichbis set to conclude on Friday, is focused on developing strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in fulfilling its constitutional mandate.
