Africa Day Holiday Sees Fewer Accidents, But More Fatalities

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has reported a decline in the number of road traffic accidents during the 2025 Africa Day holiday compared to the same period last year. However, the number of fatal crashes and deaths slightly increased.
A total of 128 accidents were recorded, down from 190 in 2024. Despite the overall decrease, fatal accidents rose from six to seven, resulting in eight deaths one more than the previous year. The number of people injured dropped from 35 to 22.
Police are urging motorists to strictly follow road traffic regulations to help prevent loss of life.
