The 2025 Annual Mining Conference, held under the theme “Unlocking Growth Potential for the Zimbabwe Mining Industry”, concluded on a high note with a powerful and heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. J. Musekiwa, Vice President of the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe.
In front of an assembly of government officials, mining executives, international partners, financial institutions, and community leaders, Mr. Musekiwa expressed deep gratitude to all delegates for their unwavering commitment to shaping the future of Zimbabwe’s mining sector. His address was both reflective and forward-looking—capturing the spirit of collaboration and ambition that defined the three-day conference.
“This conference has not only brought together some of the finest minds in mining, policy, and finance, but it has also reignited our shared resolve to unlock Zimbabwe’s vast mineral wealth in a sustainable, inclusive, and transformative manner,” said Mr. Musekiwa.
He paid tribute to Honourable Minister of Mines and Mining Development W. Chitambo for his inspiring keynote address and visionary leadership in championing mining development, and to Dr. John Mushayavanhu, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, for laying out a robust roadmap on monetary stability and the de-dollarization strategy tailored to support mining growth.
Special recognition was extended to Honourable D. K. Mnangagwa, Deputy Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, for articulating the fiscal landscape and incentives framework that aim to stimulate investment and enhance operational viability within the mining industry.
Mr. Musekiwa also lauded the Chamber’s President, Mr. T. Gono, for steering the organization with clarity of purpose and for setting the tone of the conference through his insightful leadership.
“The exchange of ideas, frank discussions on PGMs, fiscal policy, and investment trends have illuminated the path ahead. But the work begins now—turning insights into impact, ideas into investments, and dialogue into development,” he added.
He concluded by thanking the host city of Victoria Falls and the management of Elephant Hills Resort for their hospitality, logistical excellence, and symbolic backdrop—a destination that underscores Zimbabwe’s potential not just as a mining hub but as an anchor for regional and global partnerships.
As applause filled the conference hall, it was clear that the 2025 Annual Mining Conference had achieved more than just deliberation—it had rekindled a collective mission to drive Zimbabwe’s mining sector forward, unlocking its potential as a cornerstone of national economic growth.
