The City of Victoria Falls has once again cemented its status as a leader in public service, clinching the Gold Award in the Local Authorities category at the 10th edition of the Service Excellence Awards for the Southern Region.

The glamorous ceremony, organized by the Customer Experience Association of Zimbabwe (CEAZ), was held in Bulawayo and saw the tourism capital outshine its regional counterparts in a highly competitive category.

In a significant victory for the municipality, Victoria Falls beat out the City of Bulawayo, which took the first runner-up spot, and Gwanda Municipality, which followed as the second runner-up. The award recognizes the local authority that has demonstrated the highest levels of responsiveness, efficiency, and dedication to resident and visitor satisfaction.

The victory was made even more poignant as His Worship, Councillor P. T. Moyo, the Mayor of Victoria Falls, presided over the event as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the delegates, Mayor Moyo emphasized that service excellence is not an act but a habit that must be embedded in the DNA of every local authority.

Taking off his hat as Guest of Honour to celebrate his own city’s achievement, Mayor Moyo noted that the gold medal is a testament to the hard work of the council staff and the support of the community.
