VICTORIA FALLS – In a move aimed at enhancing service delivery and ensuring customer satisfaction, the City of Victoria Falls has begun the pilot installation of pre-paid water meters for residential and business properties.
The initiative, a collaboration between the City and Bhungane Investments, is designed to provide reliable and high-quality water services to residents. A key feature of the new system is a custom-developed software, created by the contractor, specifically tailored for the meters and the local authority’s needs.
Upon installation, each property will be automatically credited with an initial 5 cubic metres (5,000 litres) of water. Once this credit is used, customers will be required to “juice up” their meters by purchasing a token to continue receiving water.
The primary goal of the pre-paid meter project is to modernize the city’s water service infrastructure. City officials have stated that the system is intended to ensure “top notch” service that aligns with principles of customer satisfaction and quality delivery.
The successful implementation and evaluation of this pilot phase will determine the timeline for the full exercise, which will see the pre-paid meters installed more widely throughout Victoria Falls.
