President Mnangagwa yesterday launched the Gukurahundi Community Engagement Programme at the State House in Bulawayo.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa honored the memories of Zimbabwe’s founding fathers, Robert Mugabe and Joshua Nkomo, while emphasizing the importance of building on their legacy to cement unity.

President Mnangagwa’s address at the launch event in Bulawayo underscored the importance of unity and national reconciliation, invoking Zimbabwe’s rich history of resilience in the face of adversity.

He emphasized that the divisions among Zimbabwean people have historically been exploited by external forces and enemies of the state, with a focus on stoking tribal conflict during the colonial era. He underscored the importance of learning from this history and maintaining unity against such tactics.

Mnangagwa said the program will be a success because it’s based on home based remedies as it involves traditional leaders to spearhead this program so that it attains its intended intention.
