The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) says the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is investigating Schools and Pharmacies involved in currency manipulation.

According to a statement released yesterday by the RBZ Governor John Mangudya, the FIU is currently investigating cases of breaches of the Bank Use Protection Act and currency manipulations by some business entities.

Mangudya added that the FIU will deploy all tools at it’s disposal to deal with such malpractices including imposition of fines, freezing of bank accounts and blacklisting them from enjoyment of financial services.

He further urged the public to report offending businesses and service providers to the FIU hotline numbers 0780 434 475 and 0714 039 897.
